Pauline Campbell

Pauline Campbell is a Black British lawyer, advocate, and author whose work champions justice, dignity, and representation.

Born to Windrush-era parents, she has spent her career defending individuals and communities pushed to the margins, bringing compassion, clarity, and courage to every case she touches.

Pauline is the author of Rice & Peas and Fish & Chips — a memoir exploring identity, race, and belonging — and Lefty Lawyer, which traces her journey from a child told she didn’t belong in academia or the legal profession to becoming a senior lawyer and outspoken voice against injustice. Her writing blends legal insight, social history, and lived experience, offering readers an authentic, powerful lens into modern Britain.

Her work has been featured on BBC Woman’s Hour, Channel 4 News, and in the Law Society Gazette. She is an active public speaker, Windrush advocate, and mentor to emerging Black professionals.

Pauline is currently developing new writing projects while continuing her legal and community work. She lives in London.

“My goal is to repair the inferiority classification that still exists today and negatively impacts people of colour’s lives.”
